AFTV-African Television is the only European licensed TV station designed to promote Africa. CEO-Founder, Pastor Larry Omodia launched the station on March 10th, 2012 in The Netherlands.

 

The station started its test signal on the-same day by broadcasting on Satellite "ASTRA 23.5E.The eastern part of Europe including the Netherlands welcomed this new station with open arms.

 

The station idea originated from the fact that CNN promotes American ideology, BBC does the-same for Europe, Aljazeera has been successfully re-branding the image of the Middle East. AFTV-African Television has taken on the mantle of showing the beauty of Africa.

 

People are bombarded with negative images of Africa  broadcasting the poverty, civil wars and crime. As true as they are, Africa has several positive aspects. These are the stories that African Television promotes: AFTV is here to showcase the beauty , tourism, investment , culture and modernization of Africa.

 

CEO of AFTV says: If we do not promote ourselves no one would do it for us. We owe it to our motherland to tell her true stories. Western media can only tell from one perspective. We are here to showcase the entire beauty of this continent. Our job at AFTV is to penetrate the homes across the globe with beautiful African contents.

 

Watching TV across the world, it saddens me that no African TV station is running on any European or American Network. Yet in Africa, we are bombarded with American, European and Indian contents. Imagine if they had good African contents running on their cables, they would come to understand us, our beauty, our culture and our struggles. All these will bring them to the knowledge of our people and that translates into RESPECT for our continent.

 

The less they know about us, the less credit we get. AFTV-African Television is the First of several channels of African television series of stations.
